Truth:

Both traditions emphasize honoring parents. The Quran states: "And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], 'uff,' and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word" (17:23). The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "Paradise lies at the feet of mothers." Hinduism teaches "Matru Devo Bhava, Pitru Devo Bhava" (Mother and Father are God). The Manusmriti states that serving parents is equivalent to serving God. Both traditions consider disrespecting parents as a major sin.
