Both traditions have rites of passage for boys. In Islam, circumcision (Khitan/Sunnat) is performed, following the practice of Prophet Abraham. It's considered a sign of the covenant with God. In Hinduism, Upanayana (sacred thread ceremony) is performed, where boys receive a sacred thread (Yajnopavita) and begin their spiritual education. Both rites: 1) Mark entry into religious community, 2) Are performed at specific ages, 3) Have spiritual significance, 4) Connect to tradition, 5) Are considered important milestones. While the practices differ, both serve to initiate boys into their religious communities and mark their spiritual journey. Both traditions view these rites as connecting the individual to the faith community.
